Skin care shouldn't feel like guesswork

There's advice everywhere, but very little of it is about your skin.

Too many products

Shelves full of choices, and no clear way to know which ones suit you.

Money wasted

It's easy to spend a lot on things that don't work for your skin, or that don't work together.

Advice for one kind of skin

Most guidance ignores skin tone, even though deeper skin often needs a gentler start.

How it works

Three steps, about a minute

  1. Scan your face

Face a window and hold your phone up. The app takes a few quick photos, no video.

  2. See your skin reading

Shine, redness, dark circles, spots, blackheads and pores, each with a simple level.

  3. Get your routine

A short morning and evening plan, the reason for every step, and products at a price you choose.

What you get

A clear skin reading

Six things we check, each as Low, Settled or High, so you can see where your skin is today and how it changes.

Spots, blackheads and pores are early estimates, and the app says so.

Made for your skin tone

Pick your shade on the Monk skin tone scale and answer six quick questions. Skin that's easily irritated, or tends to keep dark marks, gets a gentler start.

Use what you already have

Tick the products on your shelf, or scan a barcode. Your routine uses them first, and only suggests buying what's missing.

Ask the skin coach

Quick answers to everyday questions, like "Can I use these two together?" The answers are written and checked by our team.

Questions

Is Dermata free?

Yes. Dermata is free to use, and you don't need a card to sign up.

Who is it for?

Adults aged 18 and over, with any skin tone and any skin type.

Is it medical advice?

No. Dermata looks at how your skin appears and suggests everyday skin care. It doesn't diagnose anything. If a spot is painful, bleeding, spreading or changing fast, please see a GP or a pharmacist.

What happens to my photos?

They're sent to our server, measured in a few seconds, then deleted. We only keep the results, like "Shine: Settled". Close ups are kept only if you choose to help us train new checks, and you can change your mind any time.

Where do the products come from?

Real products from brands sold in UK shops, picked by our team to fit your skin and your budget. We don't sell products ourselves. The app shows where to buy them, including chemists near you.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Dermata works in your phone's web browser. For the scan, open it in Safari or Chrome rather than inside Instagram or TikTok, because those can block the camera.
